The polymer matrix impregnated with oil lubricates and protects the bearing even under the toughest operating conditions and ensures a significantly longer service life even when using high-pressure cleaners! The deep groove ball bearings have been developed for bearing arrangements where high humidity, occasional contact with water or heavy contamination cause major problems. Bearings with Solid Oil are lubricated for life and cannot be relubricated.
Solid Oil
Solid oil is an oil-impregnated polymer matrix which is pressed into the free space of the bearing. The remaining, very small gap between the matrix and the rolling elements, the raceways and the cage allows the unhindered circulation of the bearing parts. The bearing has a porous structure with millions of microscopically small pores so that the surface tension is sufficient to retain the oil.
Bearing Properties
An increase in the operating temperature transports the oil to the surface of the polymer matrix and ensures an even lubricant supply. In the event of an operating standstill, the oil that has already escaped is absorbed again by the filler. Solid oil bearings contain a large amount of oil (two to four times more than conventional grease lubrication). A high-quality synthetic oil with high oxidation resistance is used as standard for solid oil.
Resists washing out
Solid Oil cannot be washed out; it fills the entire free space in the bearing. This keeps moisture penetration to a minimum. The water cannot mix with the oil or solid oil polymer matrix.
Good protection against contamination
The very small gap between the solid oil polymer matrix and the rolling elements or raceways practically excludes the penetration of impurities. Integrated bearing seals additionally increase the sealing effect.
